A lake weekend cut short...

Friday night we headed down to my Dad and Pat's lake house.  We were all excited to spend some quality time with them and have some lake style fun!  We got off to a good start Saturday morning with a nice breakfast and then immediately got ready to go down to the dock, but we could tell Hadley wasn't feeling well.  She had a real barky cough that had come out of no where and seemed very tired and not really into doing anything fun...totally not herself.  Seville and I swam for awhile and then Hadley and Scott joined us, but it didn't last for long.  Between Hadley not feeling well, Seville coming off of being sick for a week and the weather being cooler than normal it wasn't long before we headed back up to the house!

After a little rest we decided to take a walk up to see the mini horses...do you remember them from my post last Thanksgiving?  The girls enjoyed walking Sydney up the hill to meet the horses!
Here they are greeting the horses!
Hadley took to the horses right away and loved petting them!
Grandma Pat brought carrots and taught the girls how to feed the horses with a flat hand!

Have I mentioned how much I love mini horses...I think Hadley agrees!

They girls had to get up high to see the fainting goat over the hill!
One last round of petting before we headed back down the hill!

Seville loved walking Sydney by herself!

Later that evening we went to Sunrise Cantina (our favorite) for dinner and then Grandma Pat made the girls ice cream cones for dessert!  Grandma Pat loves making funny faces with the girls!
Seville and Grandma Pat!
Yum!
Blue eyes!
Silly girl!
Grandma Pat and Seville cuddling before bed last night!
Unfortunately, a few hours after we went to bed last night Hadley's breathing started sounding so bad that we got worried.  After our scary incident last fall and our trip to the lake ER earlier this summer we didn't want to take any chances and decided it was best to pack up in the middle of the night and head back to Children's Mercy.  Sure enough they diagnosed her with croup again and got her started on steroids right away!  She is doing much better now, but we were so sad to cut our weekend at the lake short with Dad and Pat!  Even though everyone wasn't feeling their best while we were down there we are thankful for the time together and can't wait to go back!

Forgot to mention the ice cream photos of Seville. Well, first, it made me really hungry for some ice cream!!! Second, I love the close up with the ice cream running down her face. Look at that grin! Love it!
