HSM3

Kristi and I took Hadley and Alyson to see HSM3 last night. We were out of town in Mexico for the big opening last Friday otherwise I am sure we would have been there! Don't be fooled (which you probably aren't)...Kristi and I were just as excited if not more excited than the girls! I think we both even teared up at one point in the movie...well at least I did! I would say the quote that put us over the edge, but that would give it away for any of you that plan to see it! Anyway, we had a blast and we pretty must had the theater to ourselves, which was fun! We are still thinking we maybe like HSM2 a little better, but maybe because we have seen it 9,000 times!

We have been fighting off something awful all week. Kristi came down with it first Sunday night into Monday, then Scott Monday night into Tuesday, then Hadley Tuesday and Wednesday. My Mom, Jon, Susie and me have even had little bouts of it. Who knows where it came from, but thank goodness everyone seems to be on the mend now! We have a busy night filled with trick-or-treating at my work (Kristi and the girls are coming too!), dance (they get to wear their costumes this week), making dinner (more on that later...that is a whole separate post), getting stuff ready for tomorrow and carving pumpkins! I am trying to figure out how we can fit all that in, but I am sure it will happen somehow!

Have a great Halloween! I will be sure to post pics of my Tinkerbell and her little fairy sister! :)

SURPRISE…We’re back!

Well, for obvious reasons I didn’t want to post on the blog that we were going to be out of town for an entire week, but now that we are back I can shout it to the world! We just got back on Saturday from beautiful, sunny, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with my Mom, Jon and the Imboden’s. We had the BEST time!! The fun times and memories are countless!! We left on Saturday, October 17th at 8:00 a.m. via a direct flight on Frontier Airlines (THANK GOODNESS!!) Let’s just say that the highlights of our trip are definitely NOT the flights. Seville and Gracyn are NOT fans of the airplane (I think it is mostly the being confined part), but that is okay because the flight is only a little over 3 hours and it was well worth the awesome time we had the rest of the week. All FOUR girls swam pretty much the ENTIRE week. Whether it was the main “loud” pool with all the activities, the kids pool at the sports center, the ocean or the hot tub on our patio they just swam and swam and swam…and surprisingly got along really well the entire week! I have about 300 pics to go through, so I don’t have any of those to add to this post, but I promise they will come….hopefully this week!! I just want to say thank you to my Mom and Jon for making this trip possible. It is their timeshare that we went to and it is such a great place for families! The resort is called Paradise Village and the website is www.paradisevillage.com. Scott and I have been several times in the past and this was Hadley’s third time, but this was the first time we took Seville and the first time we took friends. It was such a great experience to have our friends and our girls’ friends with us…especially since I grew up as an only child and didn’t get to go on vacations with siblings! I must admit that as we left last Saturday I really didn’t think it was going to be a relaxing trip for me, which was fine since I knew we would have fun anyway, but it actually really was. Not in the same way that I relaxed before having kids, but still relaxing all the same. One flight attendant on the plane going down looked at us all like we were crazy and said that she hoped we had a good time. I told her that relaxing was for retirement and parenthood is about making memories, and that is exactly what we did! Plus, we still managed to squeeze in some relaxation while the kids were sleeping or playing together so I say the trip was a smashing success! I want to share more stories, but I will save for those for the pictures, which I can’t wait to post! Have a great week!

A PERFECT Pumpkin Patch Day!

This morning/afternoon we went to the pumpkin patch with my Dad and Pat (http://www.carolynscountrycousins.com/). It was a beautiful day and we had such a FABULOUS time! There is so much to do we stayed for almost four hours! This is the same patch we went to the past two years, but my Dad and Pat had never been and they were so impressed. It is such a top notch family business! It makes you want to open a pumpkin patch when you see what an awesome job they do (oh yeah, and how much money they make!) Not only did we have a great time, but we enjoyed some of their yummy treats including kettle corn and apple cider slushes! YUMM!!

Daddy's Girls...and yes, he took the picture!
My Dad and Me!
Seville wanting me to follow her through the corn maze!
Come on, Mom...stop taking pictures!
So cute! I just love this picture for some reason! It is so Seville. She just has that look of mischief on her face!
And here is her sweet side!
Mommy and her little girl!
So proud! We didn't think she would stay on this moving tractor, but she LOVED it!
This was the best one I got of Hadley on the ride! Owell!
We all got a kick out of this pose she was doing!
Feeding the goats!
Hadley loved this...maybe she will be a vet...she has been talking about it a lot lately!
In the "pirate ship" as Hadley calls it!
The train we rode on! Hadley wanted to sit in the "boose", so we did!
My girls...sometimes when I try to get both of them in one shot this is as good as I can get. Plus, this was right before we ate lunch and Seville was in melt-down mode!
Here is a similar shot from last year! Look how bald Seville was!
Sevillie-Roo and her favorite Cheerio container! She is always hunting through my purse for this thing!
Tried to get them both again, but it still didn't' work!
Hadley loved seeing which ones she could pick-up. Poor pumpkins!
Pumpkin Princess...
...in a pumpkin wagon!
It is the little things in life that make them happy!
On the way out to the patch!
Hadley looked and looked and found her "perfect" pumpkin!
She really wanted to find one off the vine, so Grandpa and her found this perfect little one!
One pooped out little girl!
It was such a great day! We can't wait to do it again next year!

On a side note, I had this strange rash on my chest this morning and now it is spreading to my stomach and back. It is kind of freaking me out! I don't have time for that this week!! I hope it goes away while I am sleeping! Any thoughts? Night, night!

Evolution of the Wedding Dance..TOO FUNNY!

Okay, I never send forwards or post anything like this, but for some reason I just love this and think it is too funny not to share. Maybe because it is like a trip back though time for me...don't you remember all of these songs and dances? My Dad sent this to me via e-mail this morning! Makes me want to get married again (to the same guy!) so that we can copy this creative idea!! I can remember doing Cotton Eyed Joe at Guitars and Cadillacs out in Olathe back in high school, and I can remember doing Kris Kross in my friends Alyson's basement in elementary school! Too funny! I love how certain songs bring back specific memories!!

Lion King and Scrapbooking

Last night my Mom and Jon took Hadley and me to see the Lion King. Words cannot express how great it was and how much we all enjoyed it…especially Hadley! Hadley has an amazing love for live performances. She really appreciates them and takes it all in…much more than most teenagers and even some adults even can! There is certainly no money wasted in taking Hadley to a live performance! She actually cried (tears and all) when the Lion King was over last night. She just doesn’t like for the performances to end and it releases a bunch of emotions in her! Every time we take her to a live performance she is so concerned that it is going to be over…and of course eventually it is! Poor thing! She was too tired to tell Scott any stories about it last night, but I can’t wait to hear what she tells him tonight! We were in row G right in the center, so she had the perfect seat to take it all in! I know I will be amazed with all the small details she will remember! I will be sure to pass along some of the stories! They are sure to be cute! Thanks Gam and Grampa for taking us! We love you!

On Saturday day/night I scrapbooked with all of my scrapbooking girlfriends! We had a great time as usual and always end up doing more chatting than cropping, but owell…that is what it is all about! I thought I might as well post some pictures of some of my recent pages so that you all can know that I really DO scrapbook and that it isn’t something I just talk about! HA!! I took these pics really quick and they turned out really bad, but I don’t want to take them again, so these will have to do! These are all from Seville’s book, so that is why Hadley is in them very little! Hadley had almost three years of me scrapbooking exclusively for her, so I am trying to even things out a bit and make sure Seville at least has a book of her first year! Here are some recent pages I have done in chronological order:

"Mother's Day Trip"...May 2007 to St. Louis, Missouri!

"Sisters"...on the left in their first pair of matching jammies!

"Blue Eyes"...this was one of my favorite outfits on BOTH girls! I loved the way it made their blue eyes pop even more than normal!

"Summer at the Lake"...hwo do you like the picture of alien Seville?

"4 Months"

"Five Months"...caption says"Gam's 60th birthday, trips to the lake, breathing treatments, favorite fingers and sitting up!" I am so bad about journaling because I don't like the way my handwriting looks on the page and I never have time to go back and use the computer. I guess that is what this blog is for!

"Omaha: October 2007"...This is the trip we took with the Imboden's this time last year! We had such a blast and can't wait to go next year. It was such a great fall trip!

"Punkin Patch"...this was last year and we actually were there with the found my favorite picture of Seville and Gracyn amongst a sea of pumpkins and it was hiding under my page and now there is no where to put it. This page was a Kristi/Kenna collaboration from Saturday night. We decided to save time and come up with the idea together, so you might see these exact pages on her blog as well. I free handed the border on the left (major accomplishment for me because free handing things is very outside of my box) and Kristi had the idea for the tree on the right. Good thing we were able to find a stencil in the store! The bats and letters are made from black felt!

I will try to post some more pages another time, but that is all for now! I still have a bunch more random updates, so stay tuned for those at some point!
