Two 4 Two

She did it again! When Seville got up this morning I asked her if she wanted to go potty and she nodded yes, so we went in and tried again and VOILA!! She is so cute because she tightens her little tummy muscles and then goes...just like she knows what she is doing! I feel kind of lost and like I don't know what to do...even though I have done this before. Hadley was so much older and I knew she was mentally ready. I am not sure if Seville is truly old enough or has the communication skills to routinely tell us she needs to go. If anyone has done this potty training thing at under two years old please give me some tips. I was really not planning on this, but if she wants to I am willing to go with it, and she is dry almost every time she wakes up in the morning or from nap. Maybe I will just keep it low key until she turns two and then go for it. I really don't know what is the right thing to do! HELP!

Clearly I've never done this before, But I was pretty sure my mom had us potty trained before 2 - so I thought that was normal. If she's ready, I say go for it. She may be in a pull up for a while, but awesome for you guys!!!! How exciting. I've been letting Eden watch me go - hoping she'll get interested. So far, it's pretty boring for her.

I think you are right that we were all potty trained much earlier than our kids are now. With Hadley, Parents as Teachers and my peditrician encouraged me to not even try (introduce but not try) before 2 or even 2.5, but that is certainly not the norm in other countries where they do it much earlier. Between 2 and 3 seems to be the norm with everyone we now and the preschools. We will just have to see where little Ms. Seville wants to go with this! Thanks for the encouragement!

My mom had my brother and I both potty trained before we were two...I'll have to ask her and see if she remembers what she did or how exactly it went....
