Wednesday, June 3rd, was Hadley's BIG 5th BIRTHDAY, and we took EVERY opportunity to CELEBRATE!! Since Seville's daycare was closed that day too, I decided it was a perfect day to stay home with both girls and do something fun, so we went to Crown Center with our neighbors for a little field trip!!
Crown Center is the world headquarters for Hallmark Cards, and Crayola is a division of Hallmark. Crown Center has a Crayola Cafe, so we decided to eat there for lunch! It was very fun! Amy S., Cooper, Amy H. and Abby all came along...actually it was Amy S.'s idea, so I can't take the credit! Here we all are at lunch, minus me because I was behind the camera!
Cooper, Abby and Hadley all turnws five within about two weeks of each other! So fun! Actually, we have six kids on our cul-de-sac starting kindergarten in the fall! WOW!!
Hadley got an ice cream treat for being the b-day girl!
After lunch we headed to Kaleidoscope, which is operated by Hallmark and offers free year around art sessions for children! Here is Hadley in the glow-n-the-dark area!
Amy S. and Cooper!
Seville climbing her first of many things she shouldn't have been climbing at Kaleidoscope! She is truly half monkey!
Seville and Hadley taking a peek inside!
Seville climbing another thing she shouldn't climb. If something is too tall for her no problem...she just starts climbing. She is on top of things before I can even snap my fingers. I just don't know what to do with her. She is now climbing our drawers at home to get things out of reach!
Checking it out from underneath!
Hadley creating a masterpiece!
Seville looking into the mirror display...
...with Ms. Amy!
Hadley waiting for her custom puzzle to be cut!
The completed puzzle!
Hadley looking into the mirrors...this shot is taken from the inside!
She really liked this one!
Seville and Hadley painting with water colors!
Seville washing her hands! Is this the cutest sink you have ever seen or what!
Seville waiting for her watercolor mask to come out of the dryer...climbing once again! I think I was getting a little stressed at this point!
Hadley sitting on a funny seat!
Cooper's daddy is an optometrist, so we couldn't resist this picture!
View #1 inside Kalediscope! Hallmark has done such a great job with this facility, and I remember going her when I was a kid!!
Back at home that night Hadley got a very special birthday call from her best friend Alyson! I just love the look on her face! Alyson was not in town for her birthday, so it meant so much to Hadley that she called...even if they had a hard time hearing each other!
All of Hadley's grandparents came over for dinner on her birthday, as well as our next door neighbors Amy, Cooper and Corinne (Aaron was still at work!!) Hadley picked pizza for dinner and wanted to play at the pool afterwards (which is just in the background!!)
Grandpa Jim, Hadley and Cooper!
Sissy partying at her own table!
Daddy!
Mommy, Hadley and Daddy!
Hadley opening her card from Mommy and Daddy with a pug dog on front...
...and then opening her slip-n-slide! She was so excited (hence the hair flying in the air!)
Opening videos from Gam and Grampa!
Opening her purse from Great Grandma Wilda!
Opening her Hannah Montana outfit from Grandpa John and Grandma Pat!
Opening her bathtub from Grandma Sue Sue and Grandpa Jim!
Kit in the tub!
After presents we headed over to the pool! Here is Seville blowing bubbles!
The gang at the pool!
Hadley doing the backstroke!
Cooper having a blast in the cold water!
Hadley picked this cake from Dairy Queen and was just so excited it had Tweetie Bird on it...I am not real sure why, but as long as she was excited that was fine with me!
Seville freezing from the cold water and ready for some cold ice cream cake!
Make a wish, sweetie!
Had and Coop enjoying cake!
Corinne enjoying cake her own way!
The result!
Our five year old...WOW...where did the time go!
Hadley with Grandma Pat in her new Hannah Montana outfit!
Seville the bag lady!
It was a great day with lots of fun memories and laid back fun! I can't imagine a more perfect day!!
