A family affair...

We are super sad to report that our very special friend Makoto will be heading back to Japan next Monday!! :( The girls just adore her and we do too!! She has become an extended part of our family, and we will miss her terribly! If I even think about her leaving it makes me so sad, so I am just trying to not think about it!! Hopefully she will be back soon, but we aren't 100% sure, so we have been trying to spend as much time with her as possible! We had her over for dinner a few weeks ago, and then two weeks ago we took her out to dinner with our good friends Jen and Dan to KC's finest Oklahoma Joe's, and then last Friday night we took her to my nephew's football game with us in Topeka!! Sam, my nephew is a senior and the starting quarterback for his high school football team. Friday night was their homecoming game and he was also up for homecoming king!! We are so proud of him! We couldn't miss his special night and wanted to include Makoto in our traditional "American" fun!! What is more "American" than a Friday night high school football game with hot dogs, popcorn, marching bands and cheerleaders. It just so happens that my youngest niece, JJ, is a cheerleader on the freshman squad and my oldest niece, Francesca, is the cheerleading coach. It is definitely a family affair at the THS football games!!

As we left KC and headed towards Topeka the evening was beautiful and 100% perfect for fall football. However, as we got closer to Topeka, the clouds got darker and darker and it started to pour down rain! What a bummer! I brought my camera and was planning to get some really cute photos of everyone, but the rain forced me to leave it in the car!

Makoto and Hadley in the car on the way to the game!
Makoto imitating Seville's infamous two finger sucking!
Seville was up to her silly smiling again! BTW...the girls had to wear football ribbon in their hair like their Cousin Francesca!
This photo is compliments of my Dad!! He is no shy guy, so he went right on the field to snap this picture of my nephew Sam, my sister Shawn and her husband Frank during the homecoming king ceremony.

Even though it rained for most of the game we still had a GREAT time and THS won by a landslide!!

Until next time...

XOXO

Kenna
