This Labor Day weekend marked the third annual Skinner/Skinner/Schwindt weekend at the lake!! Before we left on Friday night the forecast called for 80 degrees and sunny the whole weekend, but what we got was a whole lot of cold, rain and fog!! YUCK!! Amy and I didn't even put our swimsuits on all weekend, which is very out of the ordinary for us, but it was just too cold!! Nevertheless, kids will be kids and they were willing to brave the cold air and cold water for little bits of time and had a blast regardless! As for the rest of our time during the three day weekend...well...we just had to improvise! When you are with great friends and family it doesn't really matter what the weather is like because you have fun no matter what, and as far as the blog goes it ends up spicing things up a bit because we went outside of our normal lake activities and tried some new fun things that we haven't done with our kiddos yet!!
Amy's birthday was on Saturday, and what do you get a die hard Jayhawk other than another Jayhawk shirt to add to her amazing collection! The hard thing was finding one she didn't have!
The big surprise from Grandpa Jim and Grandma Sue Sue this weekend was a new inflatable slide for the dock!! The kids just loved it!! Here is Cooper taking his first ride down!
Grandma Sue Sue teaching Seville how to go up the ladder...notice that Grandma is in long sleeves and pants! Can you imagine how cold the kids were!
Down goes Seville!
She loved it!

Thumbs up for the new slide! Thanks Grandpa Jim and Grandma Sue Sue!!
Wow...Susie is brave! I can't believe she got in!
Saturday evening we headed to Sunrise Cantina for Amy's b-day dinner! It is our favorite restaurant at the lake! Here is the Schwindt family plus our girls peeking in from the side!

The little girls...Corinne and Seville!
The big kids...Cooper and Hadley!

Seville feeding Peep!
Preparing to blow out the candles...the BIG 33! We joke that Amy is our older chaperone since the rest of us are all 30! We love her anyways!! :)
Make a wish!
Amy and her girl!
Seville and Peep taking a bath on Sunday morning!
The weather was still crudy on Sunday and the kids were getting cabin fever, so we decided to head over to the other side of the lake and release some energy on the go cart track!
Hi, Mom!
Cooper is very serious when it comes to anything that involves competition...here he is getting his game face on!
Hadley on the other hand is just along for the ride!
Cooper and Aaron ready to roll!
And their off...
Hadley and Scott were in the lead around the first curve...
Aaron and Cooper passed on the up hill at the end of lap one!
I love how Hadley's hair was blowing in the breeze!
Hi (again), Mom!
Hi to the other mom!
We can't believe Hadley loved go carting so much!!
Everyone had a GREAT time and we can't wait to do it again!
Go carting went really well, but Cooper was ready to drive something on his own, so we headed over to the bumper boats!
Cooper was so excited to drive his boat!
Hadley on the other hand didn't want to drive and looked really uncomfortable too! I am not sure I could have had much fun sitting like that either!
Oh...there is a smile!
Amy coming at us!
Have I got that girl well trained to wave at me or what!!
I love this...they are bumping each other under the bumper boat sign...and no I didn't plan it!!
Amy let Coop take the wheel!
BUMP!!
Go, Coop, Go!
Seville giving Corinne some love on the sideline!
Not sure if she was tickling her or what, but it is cute!
Two cutie pies! FYI...they are almost exactly one year apart!
Cooper and Amy got SOAKED on the boats! That is what you get when you let your son drive!
Our four kiddos!
The sun kind of came out while we were over riding go carts and bumper boats, so we decided to head back to the lake house and try to get out on the water while we still had a little day light...of course the sun went away, but the kids had a fun tube ride anyway!
Look moms...no hands!
Cooper was catching some major air that evening!
Aaron trying out a new way to ride the tube...not sure if he was trying to relax or keep Cooper from bouncing out!!
Sunday evening Peep fell asleep in the swing on the dock...so sweet!
A boy, a stick and some wave...what more do you need!
Waiting for the homemade ice cream to be done!
Seville with her Daddy!
Cooper lighting his own bottle rockets...I am so glad I have girls!! That freaked me out a bit!
The little girls looking oh so cute and snuggly with their blankies on the deck!
Our "Little Bill!"
The mommies with their little girls!
Seville and mommy snuggling on the deck!
Seville and Corinne watching an evening game of ladder golf between Amy and me!
Three Amigos!
Seville lovin' her some homemade ice cream!
Grandpa Jim and Seville!
Monday morning the weather was still not great and we still had to improvise...what better thing now than a domino train. Here Cooper is getting ready to knock it down!
It worked...all the way to the very last one! YEAH!
Even though it was cold and cloudy, we still felt like we needed to head out to the lake again...after all...it is our last weekend of the summer! Here everyone is hanging out on the dock!
The kids just love jumping off the back of the Sea-doos!
Seville has no problem keeping up with the big kids!
Seville is so determined and so strong...I am sure this is common for a lot of kids, but it is different for us because she is just so different from Hadley at the same age! Here is a series of her using the ladder on the back of the Sea-Doo to get out of the water all by herself...the ladders are spring loaded and not that easy to use...especially for a 2 year old! Up...
...up...
...up she goes!
And then right back in again!
And again!
This is another way she gets out!
Walking on water!
I love this little series...
This is my new fav of Seville!
One thing we did a lot of was play farkle...on the dock...inside...on the deck...you name it!! I am not much of a game player, but even I played this weekend! :)
Even though the weather didn't want to cooperate, we still had a great weekend and made a lot of great new memories that we might not have made otherwise!! It still felt funny leaving the lake knowing we didn't get a lot of good lake time, but there is always next year and we can't wait!
