Announcing Finding Focus Photography by Kenna Skinner

Hello to all of my loyal blog followers! I know I have been abscent from the blog for quite sometime now, but I have a very good reason, and I am finally ready to share it with you all!

Drum roll please…

Introducing

www.findingfocusphotography.com

It brings me great joy and pleasure to FINALLY introduce my new professional photography website. It has been a very long road, but I am very happy with the results and look forward to what the future holds! The website is a great way to showcase all of my work, provide lots of detailed information and answer most of your questions! Please take some time to look it over and let me know your thoughts, both good and bad! The site will be a constant work in progress with additional pictures being added regularly, and I will also be adding additional sections for products and testimonials...and yes, at some point there will be a separate photography blog!

This site would not have been possible without the love and support of my family and friends! I would like to first start off by thanking my sweet husband and number one supporter for putting up with all of the very late nights and long hours! Since I work full-time all of this had to happen late at night after the girls are in bed, and needless to say we have been staying up much later than normal! Second, I would like to thank my Mom for being my second biggest supporter. She has offered so many words of encouraging advice along the way and is my #1 proofreader! Third, I would like to thank Jennifer Perdaris, who designed my beautiful logo and has helped provide constant feedback on the “look” of Finding Focus Photography. The “brand” was so important to me, and Jennifer was right there to help me every step of the way! Finally, I would like to thank all of my wonderful friends for their constant kind words and never-ending support…to Lisa for being my biggest fan/loyal client and another creative eye, to Kristi for helping me track down the music for my website, to Jen Hague for being such a loyal friend who also shares my passion for photography, and to Amy who is the best neighbor and support system a girl could ever ask for! I thank you all dearly and dedicate the website to you!

With the launch of the site I am offering two specials that I wanted you all to know about:

1) Referral Special: If you refer someone to my website and they book a session you will receive a $50 credit towards any session or product. There is no limit to the referral special, so please feel free to spread the word.

2) Booking Special: The first five people who book a session to take place no later than June 1, 2010, will receive 50% off their session fee (applies to option #1 on the “investment” page) and 50% off their prints (applies to option #1 and #2 on the “investment” page). This way if you are referring people to the site you will have a special offer to give them as well!

I will be sending out a larger announcement via e-mail after the first of the year when everything has died down a bit for everyone!

I have no idea where this road is heading, but I am looking forward to what 2010 has in store and am so thankful to have you all by my side!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

XOXO

YES...he really is that cute!!

You all might remember Karsten from his newborn session I posted back in July! You also might remember that I didn't post one very adorable yet very special picture because I didn't want to ruin the surprise for those who were receiving his birth announcement in the mail. Well, I wanted to start this post by posting that all too adorable picture and reminding you of just how cute Karsten was when he was only a few days old!

Well, a lot has changed for both Karsten and his parents over the past three months as they learn all about the joys of parenthood, but one thing is for sure...Karsten is still THAT CUTE!! Actually, I don't think he could be any cuter! Last weekend I had the honor of taking Karsten's three month pictures, and we had so much fun! It was a chilly day, but the lighting was perfect because there was a nice light overcast across the whole sky! We were excited to head to the park for some family and individual shots, but the wind picked up and it was just too chilly for a little guy, plus he was getting pretty sleepy! We did manage to get a few cute shots before we left the park, and these are two of them:

As we walked back to the car Karsten fell asleep on his daddy and he continued to sleep after we got back to the house. Lisa's Mom had brought over some "props" for us to get some cute fall pictures of Karsten, and they worked out perfectly to use while he was sleeping!

OMG...look at this smile while he was sleeping...so precious!

A close up of his beautiful eyelashes!
After a quick rest and a bottle, Karsten was bright eyed and ready to go!! Check out his baby blues! They are amazing!
I have a hard time turning any of his pictures black and white because of his beautiful blue eyes, but they are still beautiful even in black and white! That smile and dimple aren't too bad either!

Grandma came over to help get Karsten to smile in the family pictures, but I couldn't resist getting a cute picture of the two of them together! I think these two will be making quite a few special memories together in the future because they already have a very special bond!
Then we headed back outside for some family pictures and it went much better the second time around!

We got some fun Mommy/Son, Daddy/Son shots too!

Then back in to warm up and get some truly Karsten shots!! Grandma got this smile out of him right before she left! So cute!
And this is one of my favs...both in color and black and white!
Now, Karsten has more quits that have been handmade for him than any baby I know, so we had to get his picture on a few of them! This is the quilt that matches his room...and boy does it look good with his blue eyes!
And this is his Christmas quilt!
We couldn't resist an awake shot with the adorable hat his 'Aunt' Jenn got him!
These last few I actually took the next day because Karsten was getting tired and we wanted him to be fresh and 'strong' for his tummy time shots! It takes a lot out of you to push up at three months old, but he couldn't be any cuter!

Finally, we wanted to get some very special shots of Karsten with Lisa's Mustang! My thought was for him to push up on the hood, but he was too distracted by the shiny red paint, so we moved him inside the car and this one turned out pretty cute! I am sure we will be doing more Mustang shots as he gets older!
Lisa's Gaga gave her this Mustang years ago, so Lisa wanted some special pictures of her and her boy in the 'Stang to give to Gaga! Gaga even put the ladybug sticker under the window because Lisa loves ladybugs! I can't decide which picture I like better!

Lisa and Scott, thank you so much for asking me to take Karsten's three month pictures! I feel truly honored to be not only your friend but also your photographer!

Until next time,
XOXO

Eden Sneak Peek

Recently I had the pleasure of photographing sweet little Eden and her adoring parents!! Eden's Mommy Jenn and I met through Lisa (see post below) and have been good friends ever since...we are also scrapbooking buddies!! Jenn, by trade, is a graphic designer and she is working with me to design a logo for my photography business. Someday I hope to stop posting client pictures on my personal blog and have a separate photography website and blog, but it just takes time my friends...something I don't have a lot of!! Anyway, when the fabulous logo debuts, just know that it was designed by this gorgeous lady!

There is something about Eden that just captures my heart! She couldn't be any more beautiful with her amazing dark eyes and dark hair! Jenn and David, it was so much fun taking these pictures! I hope this little sneak peek can hold you over until I finish the rest! I promise there are lots more cutes ones to come!!

David, Eden and Jenn
David and Jenn said that Eden likes to point A LOT right now! I am glad we captured it in such a cute way!
Look at those bright eyes and adorable smile! OMG!!!
What a great family! I wish you all could meet them! They are such great parents!
At the beginning of our session Eden had a bit of an accident with the rose bush, but the second time around went much better! It is always nice to take the time to smell the roses!
Another cute family shot!
Looking at the ducks!
I can't decide if I like this family picture better in B&W...
...or color!
We had lots of fun playing on the stairs!
This is Eden and her special monkey. I am so glad he came to the session! There is nothing like the bond between a little girl and her favorite stuffed animal! So sweet!
More amazing eyes and sweet smiles! I could photograph her ALL DAY!!
Love this one!
A special Mommy/Daughter shot...this was especially important since Jenn, like me, is often behind the camera!
Eden and her Daddy have a very special bond and it was really fun to watch them interact!
Jenn and David, thank you again for letting me capture these special memories for your family! I can't wait till next time!
