Announcing Finding Focus Photography by Kenna Skinner

Hello to all of my loyal blog followers! I know I have been abscent from the blog for quite sometime now, but I have a very good reason, and I am finally ready to share it with you all!

Drum roll please…

Introducing

www.findingfocusphotography.com

It brings me great joy and pleasure to FINALLY introduce my new professional photography website. It has been a very long road, but I am very happy with the results and look forward to what the future holds! The website is a great way to showcase all of my work, provide lots of detailed information and answer most of your questions! Please take some time to look it over and let me know your thoughts, both good and bad! The site will be a constant work in progress with additional pictures being added regularly, and I will also be adding additional sections for products and testimonials...and yes, at some point there will be a separate photography blog!

This site would not have been possible without the love and support of my family and friends! I would like to first start off by thanking my sweet husband and number one supporter for putting up with all of the very late nights and long hours! Since I work full-time all of this had to happen late at night after the girls are in bed, and needless to say we have been staying up much later than normal! Second, I would like to thank my Mom for being my second biggest supporter. She has offered so many words of encouraging advice along the way and is my #1 proofreader! Third, I would like to thank Jennifer Perdaris, who designed my beautiful logo and has helped provide constant feedback on the “look” of Finding Focus Photography. The “brand” was so important to me, and Jennifer was right there to help me every step of the way! Finally, I would like to thank all of my wonderful friends for their constant kind words and never-ending support…to Lisa for being my biggest fan/loyal client and another creative eye, to Kristi for helping me track down the music for my website, to Jen Hague for being such a loyal friend who also shares my passion for photography, and to Amy who is the best neighbor and support system a girl could ever ask for! I thank you all dearly and dedicate the website to you!

With the launch of the site I am offering two specials that I wanted you all to know about:

1) Referral Special: If you refer someone to my website and they book a session you will receive a $50 credit towards any session or product. There is no limit to the referral special, so please feel free to spread the word.

2) Booking Special: The first five people who book a session to take place no later than June 1, 2010, will receive 50% off their session fee (applies to option #1 on the “investment” page) and 50% off their prints (applies to option #1 and #2 on the “investment” page). This way if you are referring people to the site you will have a special offer to give them as well!

I will be sending out a larger announcement via e-mail after the first of the year when everything has died down a bit for everyone!

I have no idea where this road is heading, but I am looking forward to what 2010 has in store and am so thankful to have you all by my side!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

XOXO

Kenna

Sweet Allie Sneak Peek | Kansas City Newborn Photographer

Hello everyone!! It has been awhile since I posted here on the blog, but I have good reason! Just last Saturday we got back from an eight day trip to Florida with my Mom, Jon and the girls! We went to Sarasota for my cousin's wedding and then to Orlando for the girls' first visit to Disney World and SeaWorld! We had a wonderful time, and I can't wait to share some of the pics at some point, but for now I want you all to meet sweet little Allie! Do you all remember this post from early October? Well, Allison Michelle (aka Allie) arrived on October 16th, and as soon as we got back from Florida I had the pleasure of taking her newborn pictures. Aren't I blessed with the MOST ADORABLE newborns to photograph! I feel so lucky!

Meet Allie...isn't she a doll...and look at those bright eyes! The verdict is still out on what color they will be...blue or brown!
Allie was a complete doll for her entire session! Her parents say she is sooooo sweet and good natured, and I would have to agree! She even loved my baskets!

I can't resist sweet newborn toes!
And look at her gorgeous hair!
She was even happy to fall right asleep in my basket! So precious!
After a half-time bottle!
Awake again...
But sweet little Allie fell back asleep in another basket! Can I always be this lucky!
All snuggly on Daddy's arm!

Daddy, Daughter and Mommy...sweet connection!

I love how the composition of this one worked out!
Two more of my favs!

Kelly and Kyle, thank you so much for allowing me to capture this incredibly special time in your lives! Allie is so precious and the session was a complete joy!!

Until next time,
XOXO

Mr. Karsten Sneak Peek

Oh Mr. Karsten...where do I even begin!!!  We have been waiting to meet you for sooo long...even before you were a glimmer in your Mommy and Daddy's eyes...or at least that is how I feel!!  You see, I have known Lisa and Scott for over nine years now and have been waiting, rather patiently I might add, for them to join the Mommy/Daddy world (don't worry...Lisa was quite aware of my desire for her to become a Mommy!!) Well, now little Mr. Karsten is here and he couldn't be any more precious!!

I won't lie and say that we got all of these adorable shots in one day (Karsten wanted us to work for them a little bit), but they are worth every moment and make me soooo happy to look at!!  I love all of his hair and his sweet, precious face and toes and fingers!  He just couldn't be any more perfect!!

Lisa and Scott, thank you for trusting me to capture these very special memories.  I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!  I hope to have the rest of them to you by Monday or Tuesday ("hope" is the key word there!)  There are lots more adorable ones to come! Now for the pictures...

One day when Karsten wasn't feeling the sleepy poses we decided to focus on his toes and he was very happy in Mommy's arms!  The ring on his toe has a very special story.  Scott gave it to Lisa after Karsten was born.  It has a red ruby in the middle with a diamond on either side...just perfect for this new family of THREE!
...and I couldn't resist getting this picture of Karsten holding his Daddy's finger!  I have one just like it of Seville and my Scott that I just love!
One day Karsten wanted us to see his baby blues...aren't they amazing!!

Sweet baby boy napping in his crib...all of the linens in his room were handmade by Mommy and Grandma and they are just WONDERFUL!
This is the shot that Lisa has been waiting for.  She really wanted to make sure we got this one and we did!!!  YEAH!!  This saying is on the wall above Karsten's changing table!  So cute!
Seriously...could he be more precious!
This shot came to me one day and I just could not be happier with how it turned out!
I love the close-up too!
The happy family of three!
A sweet kiss from Mommy!
Ahhh...my beloved baby basket...you might remember it from Zaid back in March...well, Mr. Karsten was more than happy to curl right up on top of it for me!!  I am getting quiet the collection of baby baskets, actually!  I just love them, and they look good around the house too!
This one might be fun cropped as a 12x12 or 8x8 (as shown!)
How cute is this!!  I sent Lisa some hat ideas before Karsten was born and then she had a friend make this.  PERFECT!!
Now this is a pretty simple picture, but I just love it!  He looks so peaceful!
WOW...I can't even begin to pick my favorites, but this is for sure on the list!
We couldn't miss some priceless Mommy and Daddy shots!

There is also one very special picture that I am not going to show yet because Lisa and Scott have decided to use it for his birth announcement.  Once the announcement is out, I will post the picture for you all too see!  It is too cute for words!

Until next time...
XOXOX
